“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.”
A new month means a new essential oil! Lavender is a must-have oil to keep on hand. It can be used aromatically, topically, and internally. This oil provides calming and relaxing properties that promote peaceful sleep by adding a few drops to pillows, bedding, or the bottoms of your feet at bedtime. You can also freshen your linen closet, mattress, car, or the air by combining Lavender with water in a spray bottle. When cooking, you can add this essential oil to soften citrus flavors and add a flavorful twist to marinades, baked goods, and desserts. Like lavender, oils that are high in linalool are known for their ability to reduce sad and anxious feelings.
According to the doTERRA site, it takes 34 pounds of Lavender flowers to produce just one 15mL bottle of Lavender essential oil. It blends best with bright, citrus oils like Bergamot or Citrus Bliss to get a floral, calming scent. The light aroma of Lavender oil also mixes well with herbaceous essential oils like Marjoram or Basil oil. Use three to four drops to diffuse, dilute one drop in a 4 fl. Oz. of liquid for internal use, and apply one to two drops to desired area for topical use.
Some other uses include soothing occasional skin irritation and sunburn; making a homemade cuticle cream to bring moisture back into your nails or making a cream for your hands, lips, or anywhere you have dry spots; adding it to bath water or bath soap, promoting peaceful sleep and reducing anxiousness; easing feelings of tensions and last but not least, making yoga mat spray!
Since this oil is so versatile, it is considered a must-have oil to have on hand at all times. To see more information or to buy this pure oil, visit https://www.doterra.com/US/en/p/lavender-oil.
